Ruth has devised and delivered a wide range of events, including away days, training and planning sessions.

In 2017, at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, she supported a successful tender to run urgent care at the hospital; project managed the Living With and Beyond Cancer initiative and assisted with the development of the hospital's three year strategy.

In 2015 and 2016 Ruth worked as a Policy Officer at Health Education England, on the delivery of stakeholder engagement events across England and numerous briefings to build and deliver workforce strategy in nursing and caring.

Bradford College logoAs Development Consultant then Assistant to the CEO at Bradford College (2012-2015) Ruth initiated, organized and delivered to staff and senior management:

  • consultation events on College strategy
  • briefing sessions on education policy, the regional economy, national skills requirements and local demographics
  • training sessions on strategy development and key performance indicators
  • training sessions on social media

UKRC logoOver a four-year period at the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology, Ruth designed and delivered a range of events, including:

  • A high-profile national conference in Westminster, London with speakers, workshops, exhibitions and stalls from across the UK
  • A programme of training events and mentoring with skilled science journalists to build communications skills amongst early career women engineers (the Ingenious Women Project)
  • The S Factor Project, engaging adults with science and giving people the chance to take part in debates.

Previous work includes organising events and delivering training for a range of clients (see below). In 2005/06, tandem helped organize events for Volunteering England. In 2006/07, tandem co-ordinated the JRCT Inquiry into Destitution.

Ruth is also involved in project management. The Volunteering and Asylum Project, for instance, was managed by tandem with the support of a steering committee and included running seminars and training days across the UK. Tandem also teamed up with the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health, to train refugees in sexual health and community research skills.
