The Volunteering and Asylum Project

Volunteering, asylum and ENVIRONMENT seminar
On Wednesday 8 December 2004, around 60 people gathered for a lively and wide-ranging seminar looking at issues around encouraging and enabling refugees and asylum seekers to volunteer in the environment.

Comments from participants:
"I met individuals and organisations who I would not have come into contact with in any other way."

"It's been good to talk and raise issues, learn new ideas and promote best practice."

"I enjoyed the speakers' contributions. Some creative and inspirational ideas came out."

"Hearing about the wide range of projects and activities that are going on all around the country."

"It was good to find out about case studies of other projects and how they overcame barriers they met."

"Thank you for the opportunity to meet and talk to other people trying to do similar work-sharing problems, obstacles and solutions."
